Chinese New Year is my favourite festival. Last Friday, everyone of us wore beautiful red clothes, '
cheongsam' or traditional costumes to school. It was really fascinating . It was like the whole school was full of colours. Everyone was happy and cheerful. After the celebration, my mum and I went to buy some more new year goodies. We even bought new
furnitures from one of the shop in
Geylang East. My mum wanted me to finish all my homework and learnt spelling before Chinese New Year. We had our reunion dinner at Hotel Phoenix. My great uncle's family had joined us too. So , there were total 13 adults and 4 children. We enjoyed the food very much. Finally,we had our '
yusheng' together. We had to say many nice phrases and sentences while ' scooping' up the '
yusheng'. I enjoyed that very much. After the reunion dinner, we went home. The adults were busy tidying up the house while I played computer games. I stayed up very late that night. That was the first time I stayed until past midnight!
On the first day of New Year, I woke up early, my grandparents gave me '
ang paos' . Then I went to my father's side grandparents' house. My 'ye ye' and '
nai nai' gave me '
ang paos' too. They said I had grown taller and putting on some weight. They wanted me to work hard but not to stress myself too much. Then I went to so many
relatives house, until at night. It was terribly tiring. I slept around 10 plus.
I watched a movie with my parents on the 2
nd day of Chinese New Year. My childhood neighbour came to visit us. We played computer games and
Xbox together. I also visited my mum's student's house. They were happy to see me.
Today, the school starts but I am still in New Year mood. I am really exhausted . I am looking forward to this Saturday. I am going to my uncle's house for New Year gathering! Wow!
